Do matte business cards scuff?

Tako prints matte cards on a 32-micron scuff-resistant BOPP laminate, so the surface stays clean through wallets, pockets and handling instead of going grey at the edges.

Are matte or gloss business cards more professional?

Matte reads more understated and modern, which is why professional services, consultants and corporate brands tend to lean matte, and the non-glare finish keeps text easy to read. Gloss makes colours pop and suits bold, colourful or image-led brands. Neither is objectively more professional, it comes down to matching the finish to your brand, and both are the same price here.

What gsm should a business card be?

350gsm is the industry standard and feels solid and professional. 450gsm is a heavier, premium weight for extra substance in the hand. We offer both, 350gsm Standard and 450gsm Premium, priced apart so you can choose the feel you want.

Can I write on matte business cards?

Yes. Unlike gloss, the matte surface takes pen and ink without smudging, so it's easy to jot a note on the back or add a different number at an event.

What is matte lamination?

A thin, non-reflective film applied to both sides after printing. It removes glare, gives the card a smooth soft-touch feel, and protects the surface from fingerprints and light moisture. Ours is scuff-resistant, so it stays looking fresh where standard matte marks up.

Can I collect my cards from your South Perth shop?

Yes. We print in South Perth, so you're welcome to collect from the shop, or we can post them to you. Either way you're dealing with the person handling your job, not a faceless online queue.

How long do they take to print?

Estimated production time is 3-5 business days. The clock starts once you have approved the final artwork, not when you place the order.

What does Versions or Kinds mean?

It lets you print more than one design in the same order, handy when everyone on the team needs their own card. You get a discount that grows with the number of designs: 10% off for 2, 12.5% for 3, 15% for 4, and 17.5% for 5.

Should I get square or rounded corners?

Square is the classic default. 5mm rounded corners give a softer, more modern edge and sit a little gentler in a wallet. Both print and laminate the same way.

Can I print a different design on each side?

Yes. Full colour front and back is included and the two sides are independent. One note: we don't recommend borders on double-sided cards, since the front and back can sit slightly out of register with each other and a border makes that easy to spot.

What file should I send, and can you design it for me?

A print-ready PDF at 89 x 54mm with 3mm bleed, colours in CMYK, and fonts either outlined or embedded, with images at 300dpi. Not set up for print? Add a design package and our South Perth studio will build your card artwork with you, or send your logo and details and we will set it up. Every file gets a free check before it prints, so if something will cause a problem we catch it and fix it with you first.

On 350gsm Standard: 250 cards for $100.96, 500 for $118.25, 750 for $135.69, 1000 for $153.13, and 2000 for $257.09. On the heavier 450gsm Premium: 250 for $123.33, 500 for $151.90, 750 for $179.73, 1000 for $207.55, and 2000 for $321.86.
