Printing for Aboriginal Businesses and Corporations in Perth and WA

We print for Aboriginal-owned businesses and Aboriginal corporations across WA. That includes capability statements for tenders, AGM packs and annual reports for members, matching stationery, and the site and safety documents that contracting work runs on. This guide covers what each one needs, how we handle artwork and cultural protocols, and how to get your print sorted without chasing it.

What do Aboriginal businesses and corporations usually need printed?

Most of the work falls into four groups:

  • Tender documents: capability statements, company profiles and the printed copies that go in a tender pack.
  • Member documents: AGM notice packs, annual reports, member newsletters and rule books.
  • Stationery: business cards, letterheads and with compliments slips that all match.
  • Site documents: inductions, safety booklets, carbonless forms and pads for crews on site.

You don't need to know exactly what you want before you get in touch. Tell us what's coming up, and we'll help you work out what to print and when.

How should a capability statement work for Aboriginal procurement?

Under the WA Aboriginal Procurement Policy and the Australian Government's Indigenous Procurement Policy, buyers actively look for Aboriginal-owned suppliers, and your capability statement is often the first thing they see. Make your ownership and certification easy to find. If you're certified with Supply Nation or listed on the Aboriginal Business Directory WA, say so near the front, alongside your ABN and insurances.

After that, it's the same as any strong capability statement: what you do, where you can work, named projects, your safety record and certifications. Our guide to what goes in a capability statement walks through it section by section, and our tender printing guide covers how to print it so it holds up in the pack.

What does a corporation need printed for its AGM?

AGM season means a lot of documents landing at once: the notice of meeting, any forms members need to return, the annual report, and papers members should read beforehand. If you're posting to members across the state, they need to be printed early enough to allow for the mail.

We can print the whole pack together so it matches, and fold and collate it for you. Annual reports usually work best as a stapled booklet, and newsletters as a folded sheet or a short booklet. Tell us your meeting date early, and we'll work back from it.

How do you handle artwork and cultural protocols?

Carefully, and together with you. A few things we always check before anything prints:

  • Artwork stays with its artist. We only print Aboriginal artwork you have permission to use, and we credit the artist the way you've agreed with them.
  • No decoration for the sake of it. We won't add Aboriginal-style designs to a layout as a graphic. If your brand uses artwork, it's yours, not a stock image.
  • Images of people who have passed. If a document includes photos of people, we'll ask whether any of them have passed away, so you can decide on a cultural warning or a different image.
  • Names set exactly as you supply them. Acknowledgement of Country pages, language names and place names go to print exactly as written. We don't change spellings.

If you're unsure about anything, check with your Elders or cultural advisers first. We're happy to wait.

What about site, safety and induction documents?

Contracting work runs on paperwork crews actually use: induction booklets, safety handbooks, pre-start pads and carbonless forms. These have to survive the back of a ute, so we'll suggest paper that holds up and a format that's easy to update when your procedures change. If you work in resources, our mining, civil and resources printing covers the full range.

How do you keep everything consistent?

Once your logo, colours and details are on file, every reprint matches the last, whether it's a new starter's business cards or next year's annual report. Stationery stays in line with your tender documents without you checking it. If you'd like one point of contact handling all of it, that's how our commercial print management accounts work.
